Balcony/Terrace in Hotel Beaulac
We were visiting Switzerland for our 40th wedding anniversary so I had requested a room with a bed overlooking the lake. We were given exactly the room I had requested/hoped for and it had a wonderful view and balcony - although the large television did obscur this view from one side of the bed, which was rather a shame. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room immaculately clean. It was great to have a separate shower and WC - with basin and mirror - as this meant I could get ready while my husband took his shower and he didn't have to wait for me to finish in the bathroom. The Reception staff were excellent - friendly and polite. Most of the restaurant/bar staff were great, but we did have an issue with being 'forgotten' after ordering on the roof terrace. I realise that it was busy and so we wouldn't have minded if the server hadn't tried to cover up with some excuse rather than just owning up and aplogising. It was obvious that this was the case, as I not only saw him hastily enter our order after I'd queried it, but he then had to come and tell us that they'd run out of what I'd ordered. He hurriedly made me an alternative, rather than the bar staff doing so, which I had to drink very quickly as we'd gone up to the bar for an aperitif before our anniversary dinner in the restaurant. This didn't really start our special evening off in the best way, but a lovely meal overlooking the lake soon got our celebration back on track. Neuchâtel was a delightful place to visit with the hotel being situated right next to the Musée des Beaux-Arts which we really enjoyed. The benefit of the tourist card giving free public transport (including a 90 minute boat trip on the lake and the funicular) as well as entrance to museums and some attractions is a definite bonus so make sure to register for this and get the app.

Very centrally located near the city center which is just 10 minutes walk, right on the lake with a nearby garden and park. Plenty of parking spaces (with payment) near the Hotel. Fantastic elevators with video walls give a very nice feeling. Smiling personnel both in the reception and at the restaurant and a happy atmosphere all around the Hotel. Very polite, always smiling, and willing to assist housekeeping ladies, especially a young lady from Portugal. The junior suite with a lake view was roomy with 2 bathrooms (one for visitors right at the entrance). Wenge wood high-quality furniture with a big table and design chairs for four persons. Everything was very clean, big comfortable sofa, the suite had elegant decor and plenty of lights. Windows all over the suite provided ample sunlight all day long. The mini bar was fully stocked and was working fine (low temperatures even on hot days). The air condition was working superfine both in the bedroom and the living room (there are separate zones with individual settings which is great). All in all the junior suite makes you feel not at a Hotel but at your home. It was our second consecutive summer in the same suite and we had the feeling that we were at our home.

We had a beautifully well appointed room on the second floor overlooking the lake and looking towards the High Alps and the Jungfrau. The marina is adjacent the hotel so you can sit having lunch as we did while watching the comings and goings of the various yachts and boats. The rooftop terrace is well shaded from the sun and has a range of cocktails and snacks on offer. The art museum is right opposite the hotel and it’s an easy walk to other attractions. Car parking is easy and convenient. I must mention the staff who were all unfailingly pleasant, helpful, polite and obliging. They made us feel incredibly welcome. I hope to return for longer next time!

We had a room with a balcony that overlooked the lake. This made the end of the day even better. The staff are amazing! They were incredibly nice and very well informed about where to go and things to do. In fact, they were far more informative than the local tourist office. The hotel provides a tourist card that includes free access to a LOT of museums as well as public transport. The underground parking was nice, and the spots were quite roomy, in stark contrast to other hotels we stayed at in Switzerland. Overall, the city, the hotel, the location and the staff were excellent. We would visit again.

It was a wonderful stay! Ana was a first person that I met in the hotel. She likes a gentle breeze to set me so comfortable although the room was not ready! With her arrangement that my room was so wonderful! Only problem was I didn’t arrange myself to stay more! Definitely I will return to this hotel! It makes me so fantastic felling and my mind is so soft! Goodbye my nice hotel! Goodbye my nice city! Goodbye Ana! Definitely I will return to stay in my room and see you Ana!
